However, a lot of these so-called teeth whitening products are made up of chemicals that bleach the teeth and this chemical can affect the teeth negatively when used for a long time.
What causes yellowing in teeth?
There are several factors that contribute to the yellowing of the teeth. Most of the time, it could be as a result of food stains or the accumulation of plaque.

- Use baking soda
Research has shown that baking soda has natural whitening constituent and that is why it is one of the basic ingredients in the production of toothpaste.
Even more, baking soda encourages alkalinity. A bacterium that causes yellowing will not be able to survive in an alkaline environment.
A recent study show that toothpaste that contains baking sodas are more effective at teeth whitening. Therefore, the higher the concentration of baking soda in toothpaste, the more effective it will be at whitening the teeth.
At home, you can mix one tablespoon of baking soda with water and use it to brush your teeth twice weekly.
- Hydrogen peroxide

- Apple cider vinegar
This has been used over the centuries as a strong disinfectant for cleaning. Acetic acid is the main ingredient in apple vinegar that kills bacteria.
Acetic acid also led to the eroding of the enamel. Because of this, dental care specialist has advised that apple cider vinegar should not be used on a regular basis. And even when it is been used, it should be diluted with water.
